The Western Front Association (WFA) is pleased to announce the start of an Annual Photographic competition. The WFA is challenging photographers of all ages to send in their photographs that illustrate the theme of "Remembrance".
The competition has two categories:
- WFA Photograph of the Year
- WFA Junior Photograph of the Year
Whether you're a WFA member or a first time visitor to our website, this is the perfect opportunity to show us what the WFA means to you. In return, you'll have the chance to win superb prizes such as WFA Fleeces and other commodities, and you might even see your photo published in Western Front Association’s "Bulletin" magazines.
The group’s winners and runners will have their photographs used the forthcoming 2010 WFA Calendar.
Deadline for entries is Monday, 7 September 2009.
Hints from the judges.
The judging panel will be chaired by our Chairman and Vice Chairman, assisted by the Editors of "Stand To!", "The Bulletin" and the WFA Website. They will be looking for variety, innovation and imagination as well as technical accomplishment. For example, your image might capture a special moment, depict a specific incident or tell a story. It may feature a familiar iconic symbol, or visitors traveling to distant battlefields or sites of remembrance within the entrant’s home country. Remember, we're interested to know what WFA means to you, so please focus on capturing the essence of that special and unique world of The Great War and Remembrance.
