Bulletin November 2016

The membership magazine 'Bulletin' reflects member news and contributions. Items include: Branch Lines (news from the many Western Front Association branches around the UK and the rest of the world), branch meetings, as well as other topical information. There are dates for your diary, battlefield tours coming up in 2017, conference details and event coverage. 

This issue includes a profile of the new Patron of The Western Front Association, Sir Hew Strachan and coverage of the Annual Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, including member comments and feedback from The WFA 2016 Tour - Medica at War, and The WFA official 2016 Chairman's Tour. 

Unique to this edition, there is a substantial supplement 15 pages long, that includes contributions from a number of academics, such as Professor Gary Sheffield, as they revist, 25 years on, the article 'The True Texture of the Somme' by John Terraine. 

There are calls for papers to contibute to a conference in Edinburgh next year 'What Tommy Did Next', as well as a rich variety of relevant advertisements.
