Major changes to the WFA running order at this year's Cenotaph Ceremony.
Our own usual Cenotaph ceremony will be completely absorbed in the MOD's event. This event will focus on the three remaining Great War veterans who will lay specially-designed wreaths . Large screens in
There will be a military band. The Last Post and Reveille may possibly be relayed from the Menin Gate.
The prayers and sermon will be delivered by the Bishop to the Armed Forces.
Muster Arrangements
In outline,
Our compound will hold a maximum of 200 people (Including schoolchildren contingent). The MOD will issue us in advice with tickets for our members. There will be wheelchair access for our infirm Wreath Layers.
After the Ceremony and the departure of the three last veterans to No 10, our party will be able to cross
Timings
10:00 hrs - Muster opposite
by 10:15 hrs - Take our place in the compound
11:10 hrs - the three veterans depart for
11:11 hrs - (approx) WFA Wreath Layers lead other Wreath Layers to Cenotaph (clergy and band still in place)
11:20 hrs - Clergy depart, and WFA Wreath Layers and members march off.
Members and friends are invited to attend the Guards Chapel for our Remembrance Day Service after the ceremonies at the Cenotaph are concluded.
