The Order of the First World War notes with deep sadness the passing of Frank Woodruff Buckles, the last surviving member of the American Expeditionary Force in World War I. Mr. Buckles died on 27 February 2011 at 110 years of age. Mr. Buckles as well as his daughter were members of the Order of the First World War.
