Research is being conducted for a biography of the American, James A Drain, who was the only officer to serve in the AEF with a missing limb (he had lost his right hand in a hunting accident in 1900).
He was adjutant to Pershing ultimately specializing in heavy tank warfare and procurement and was one of the members of the Anglo-American Tank Commission.
This he did in the midst of a brilliant career in military and public service.
The autobiography is ready and the author is at the point where he is going through Drain's papers and choosing which pictures he should include in the book.
This one looks to be a good candidate, but he would like to be able to identify a few more of the people in it.
He also wonders if someone might have knowledge of the flags in the background.
