One bright and glorious morning
Quite near to Easter time
An offensive it was started
When nature seemed so blind.

It was north east of Arras
A town of great renown
The Germans tried to occupy
This great and famous town.

All preparations had been made
On everybody's part
When everything was ready
We made that sudden start.

The signal it was given
The guns commenced to roar
Sending shells in thousands
On the German lines to pour.

The battle now is over
Men gave their lives in vain
We now look for tomorrow
And pray for those in pain.

To those who miss them now they've gone
With Honour look towards
The meeting place of all their gains
The Kingdom of our Lord.
