Pvt Samuel Bruce Peacock, US Army Medical Dep was born in Mocksville NC in January 1898.
A mechanic in civilian life, Samuel entered service in May 1918 and was sent overseas in July. On 28 January 28 1919, he died of pneumonia hours before he was due to set sail for home and his body was repatriated in November 1920. He is now buried in Newcastle, Indiana; he left a widow and two sons.
