40749 Pte David Walling, 23/ Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Scottish).
Originally of the West Riding Regiment, David, of Clifford Street, Barnoldswick, was 20 years of age when he was killed in action whilst engaged on a working party. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert memorial to the missing.
