Ship's Steward Charles Grant, Mercantile Marine.
From Ingleton, Yorkshire, Charles was born at Nairn and died when his ship, the SS Membland was hit a mine in the North Sea. Aged 46, he is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London.
