10184 Pte Martin Durkin, 2nd Bn East Lancashire Regiment.
Of Hatter Street, Burnley, Pte Durkin was mortally wounded by shell fire whilst out of the line near Rouge-Croix on 14 March 1915. He succumbed to his injuries on 17 March whilst at the ‘Rawalpindi British General Hospital' at Wimereux , where he is now buried in the communal cemetery. He was 23 years of age.
