Sch Jakob Zauner, 2 MGK, 24 Bavarian Infantry Regt (1 Bav Bde, 1st Bav Div).
A holder of the Iron Cross 2nd class, Jakob had been serving in France since February 1915 where he had taken part in actions at Verdun, the Somme, the Chemin des Dames and the Champagne. Jakob was 28 years old at the time of his death. Final burial place unknown.
