From Reichsdorf, Anton was 29 years of age when he was killed by a shell during a bombardment on his company positions near Boiry (near Arras) after they had been in action in the vicinity of Bullecourt. A holder of the Iron Cross 2nd Class, he now reposes in the Lens-Sallaumines Soldatenfriedhof.
