14-april-1919-pvt-cleo-clifford-heuchanPvt Cleo Clifford Heuchan, CoF, 47th Infantry (US Army).

Born on 27 August 1888 at Muncie, Ind, Cleo was a structural iron worker by trade. He entered service in March 1918 and was sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky before proceeding overseas in May 1918 to the 83rd Division, before being transferred to the 47th Infantry of the 4th Division. He saw action at St Mihiel and in the Meuse-Argonne offensive (where he was gassed). Still suffering from the effects of gas, Cleo was part of the Army of Occupation stationed at Coblenz where he died (of complications arising from the gassing) on 14 April 1919.

Initially buried in the American Military Cemetery at Coblenz (section A, plot 2, grave 85), Cleo's body was repatriated to the USA in the 1920s.
