12773 Pte Eli Magnall, 6th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment.
Of Ribblesdale Street, Burnley, 29 year old Eli died (in hospital at Amara, Mesopotamia) of wounds that he had received two days earlier while holding the trenches at Beit Aisa. A veteran of Sari Bair, Russell's Top and Hill 60, Gallipoli, Eli is now buried in Amara War Cemetery, Iraq.
