36041 Pte Walter George Bartlett, Canadian Army Service Corps.
From Dorset, England, Walter was born in 1887. Prior to emigrating to Canada, he had eight years previous service in the Imperial Yeomanry and was a motor mechanic by trade, employed by the Fire Service in Calgary. Enlisting into the Army at Valcartier in September 1914, he was assigned to the Canadian Army Service Corps and employed as a driver. After being wounded near Ypres, Walter died in hospital at Boulogne. He is now buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery.
