16 May Pvt Herman H Streitlemeier

A farmer from Linton, Greene Cty, Herman entered service on 21 September 1917. After being sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky, he was assigned to 36th Co, 9th Bn, 159th Depot Bde before being transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss, where he joined the HQ Company of the 151st Infantry. On 16 May 1918, he was killed in an accident at Camp Shelby without seeing any overseas service and is now buried in his home town of Linton.
