Pvt Charles Wilson, Co K, 4th Infantry, 3rd Division (US Army).
From Marion, Indiana, Charles was born on 1 August 1896 and was an employee of the National Sweeper Company at the time of his enlistment into the US Regular Army on 28 July 1914. After serving three years in China, he was sent to France in May 1918 after being transferred to the 4th Infantry Regiment. Charles was killed in action near Hamel on 3 July 1918; he was originally buried in American Cemetery No.17 at Montfaucon, but his body was repatriated post-war.
