15_july_1918_sdt_jakob_wastlhuberSdt Jakob Wastlhuber, 8 Komp, Kgl Bayerisches 15 Infanterie-Regiment König Friedrich August von Sachsen.

From Ensdorf, 22-year-old Jakob originally served in the 12th BIR before transferring regiments (same brigade) after the 12th suffered horrendous losses near Thiaumont on 23 June 1916. Prior to this, he had seen action in Lorraine, the Somme (1914) and Artois before moving to Verdun. In action since 20 August 1914, Jakob was killed on the very day his unit was being withdrawn from the Verdun front. He has no known grave.
