Pvt Walter Byron McCune, Co E 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division.
Born at Sedalia, Clinton County on 20 August 1893, Walter was a farmer who had been drafted on 29 March 1918. After training at Camp Taylor, Kentucky, he was assigned to the 112th Infantry and sent to France in May 1918. Walter was killed in action at Chateau Thierry on 25 July 1918, his burial place (USA) is unknown.
