From Obertaufkirchen, Bavaria, 36 year old Martin was killed by shrapnel at Beugneux near Oulchy-le-Chateau on the Vesle front after seeing prior service in Lorraine, the Somme, the Aisne, Ypres, Galicia and Verdun. He now lies in the Kameradengrab in the German Military Cemetery at Parcy-et-Tigny.
