10 August 1917 Sdt Josef Irrgang

Serving at the front since January 1917, Josef had seen service at Armentieres, Arras and Oppy before taking over the Belgian-Dutch border defences. On 6 August 1917, he left this area and proceeded to the Ypres Salient where, on the first day of taking over a sector (south of St Julien), Josef was killed by a shell splinter. He was 19 years old and has no known grave.
