Sdt Josef Irrgang, Kgl Bayerisches 19 Infanterie-Regiment 'König Viktor Emanuel III von Italien' (5th Bav Div).
Serving at the front since January 1917, Josef had seen service at Armentieres, Arras and Oppy before taking over the Belgian-Dutch border defences. On 6 August 1917, he left this area and proceeded to the Ypres Salient where, on the first day of taking over a sector (south of St Julien), Josef was killed by a shell splinter. He was 19 years old and has no known grave.
