From Frauenvils, Bavaria, Thomas was 30 years of age when he was killed in action near Carency on 12 August 1915. He had seen all his frontline service in the Artois region and is now buried in the Kameradengrab of the German Military Cemetery at St.Laurent-Blangy (VDK online incorrectly have his death date as 12 May 1915).
