24 August 1915 Pte John Robert Butterworth

From Hirst Street, Burnley, John enlisted in September 1914 and had served in France since June 1915. He died of wounds received during a bombardment of Hamel on 24 August 1915, aged 25, and is now buried in Forceville Communal Cemetery, France.
