29 September 1915 Honoré Léonce Fabre

29 September 1915 Honore Leonce Fabre344 Sdt 2e Cl Honoré Léonce Fabre, 10cie, 142 RI (French Army).

Born at Leucate, Aude on 26 October 1888, Honoré was conscripted into the army in 1908, being recalled as a reservist in August 1914. He was killed in action on 29 September 1915 near Aubérive/Souain during the Battle of the Champagne. Buried nearby in 1915, his body was repatriated to his home town post-war and his is now one of three individual war graves in the communal cemetery at Leucate.
