2 October 1917 Kan Martin HeuweiserKan Martin Heuweiser, 1 Kgl Bay Fuß Art Regiment 'Vakant Bothmer', 9th Battery.

A farmer from Untermaisbach, Bavaria, Martin was born in July 1897 and joined the army in 1915. After serving in the Artois, and the Monchy - Cambrai - Bapaume sector, he was on the Arras - Lens front when he was killed by shellfire on his battery position on 2 October 1917. He is now buried in the German military cemetery at Lens-Sallaumines ( block 2, grave 212).
