5 December 1916 Hornist Peter Moser

5 December 1916 Hornist Peter MoserHornist Peter Moser, 6 Komp, Kgl Bay 19 Inf-Regt ‘König Viktor Emanuel III von Italien'.

From Edsberg, Bavaria, Peter was a machinist's assistant by trade. Born in 1895, he was enlisted into the Army in 1914 and had seen action near St Mihiel and the Second Battle of the Champagne before taking part in the 1916 Somme battle where he was to gain the Iron Cross 2nd Class. This was followed by a move to the Neuve Chapelle sector in October 1916 where Peter was to die during a raid by the British on 5 December. He has no known grave.
