29 December 1918 Gefr Max SpatzlGefr Max Spatzl, Kgl Bay Infanterie-Leib-Regiment (MG Komp).

A mineral-water manufacturer from Mühldorf, Max had served at the front since December 1914, seeing service in Flanders, Serbia, Verdun, Romania and Italy before returning to France for the 1918 offensives. Severely wounded in June/July 1918, Max had spent almost six months in hospital when he finally succumbed to his injuries on 29 December 1918. He was 29 years of age and his burial location is unrecorded (likely to be in Mühldorf).
