126482 Pte William Crichton, 44th Bn CEF (Manitoba Regt).
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland on 18 September 1895, William was a General Labourer, living in Branchton, Ontario, who enlisted into the CEF on 15 September 1915. After training in Canada and the UK, he left Bramshott for Le Havre on 11 August 1916 and took part in the later stages of the Battle of the Somme and the Battle of the Ancre later that year. William was killed whilst part of a working party in the Carency sector on 2 January 1917 and has no known grave. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial.
