19 January 1918 Pvt Paul O E Moyer

19 January 1918 Pvt Paul O E MoyerPvt Paul O E Moyer, Battery F, 12 FAR, US Army.

Born at Hartford City on 10 November 1900, Paul was a High School student when he enlisted into the US regular Army on 15 April 1917. After training at Columbus Barracks, Ohio and Fort Constitution, he was assigned to the 12th Field Artillery Regiment and was posted overseas in January 1918. However, whilst en route for England, he died of pneumonia on the Olympic, his body being returned to the USA where he was buried in IOOF Cemetery, Hartford City, Indiana.
