21 January 1919 Engineer Verlin Eugene Roger

21 January 1919 Engineer Verlin Eugene RogersEngineer Verlin Eugene Rogers, US Navy.

Born at Paulding Cty, Ohio on 1 June 1892, Verlin had previously served in the US Navy for four years before re-enlisting on 19 September 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Assigned to duty as a First Engineer, he served on destroyers in the Mediterranean theatre during 1918 and died of pneumonia on board the USS Prairie at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on 21 January 1919. He is buried in Philadelphia.
