Pvt Wilburn Hunter, Co C, 9th Field Signal Bn, 5th Div ,US Army.
Wilburn was born on 21 February 1889 at Bloomington, Indiana where he was working as a Mail Carrier at the time of his enlistement on 25 June 1918. After training at camp Sherman, Ohio, he was sent overseas to the 9th Field Signal Bn on 9 September 1918. Wilburn died of pneumonia on 16 February 1919 at Evacuation Hospital Nr 13 at Walferdange in Luxembourg, his body being repatriated to the USA soon afterwards. He is now at rest in the United Presbyterian Cemetery at Bloomington.
