29/454 Pte Peter Hodgson, 9th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers.
Residing at Hill Top Farm, Wennington, Peter worked for Messrs Dugdale and Chapman in Settle. After being severely wounded by a gun shot to the head, he died of wounds in 212 (2/2nd London) CCS at Meaulte and now lies buried in Grovetown Cemetery nearby. He was 25 years of age.
