28 February 1918 Pte Thomas Henry Riley

28 February 1918 Pte Thomas Henry Riley306431 Pte Thomas Henry Riley, 1/7th Bn Duke of Wellington's (W Riding) Regt.

From Skipton, Yorkshire, Thomas was a plasterer by trade who enlisted into the territorials early in 1915. Serving in France since October 1916, Thomas was killed by a shell fragment that hit him in the neck whilst engaged in routine trench holding duties in the Ypres Salient area. He was 25 years of age and is now buried in Duhallow ADS Cemetery, Ypres.
