Inf Max Josef Häussler, Kgl Bay 21 Inf-Regt ‘Großherzog Friedrich Franz IV von Mecklenburg-Schwerin'.
Born on 23 August 1898, Max enlisted into the Army during the winter of 1915. He arrived at his regiment as part of a replacement draft for the extensive casualties they had received during the Somme battle of 1916 and remained on the Flanders/Artois front from then on. A participant in the Battles of Arras and Third Ypres in 1917, he was severely wounded on 21 March 1918 and died in a field hospital near Arras on the 28th. He is now buried in the Kameradengrab of the German Military Cemetery of St Laurent Blangy.
