429011 Pte Albert Abbiss, 7th Bn CEF.
Born at Pirton, Hertfordshire on 16 November 1887, Albert was a labourer living in British Columbia, Canada at the time of his enlistment. He enlisted at Manitoba on 13 March 1915 and had joined his battalion in France and Flanders by December of that year. Albert was killed by a German bombardment near ‘Le Rossignol' (Ploegsteert Sector) on 29 March 1916 and is now buried in Berks Cemetery Extension, Belgium.
