4 April 1918 Sergeant Egidius Soller

From Niederambach, Bavaria, Egidius was born in 1892 and was a serving soldier at the time of the outbreak of war. Promoted to Sergeant and a recipient of the Iron Cross 2nd Class and Military Merit Cross throughout his four years of frontline service (Arras, Somme, Verdun, Ypres etc), he was killed in action near Morisel (Somme) on 4 April 1918. Egidius is now buried in Block 4, Grave 219 of the German Military Cemetery at Morisel.
