5 April 1917 Sdt Peter Hahn

A farmer from Siglberg, Bavaria, Peter was born in 1894 and saw service on the Western Front from the earliest days when he was a participant in the Battle of the Frontiers and Arras 1914. Service in Flanders, the Artois and the Battle of the Somme earned Peter an Iron Cross 2nd Class and Military Merit Cross. He was killed by a shell splinter on 5 April 1917 during the preliminaries to the Battle of Arras. Peter has no known grave.
