21472 Pte John Howard German, 28th Bn CEF.
Born 15 April 1885 at Meaford, Ontario, John was a graduate of the University of Manitoba (Pharmacy - 1906). An optometrist and druggist by trade, he enlisted into the 11th Bn CEF on 22 September 1914. Later transferred to the 28th Battalion, John was killed in the Ypres Salient on 7 April 1916 and he is buried in Dickebusch New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
