19 April 1917 Pte Harry Chadwick

19 April 1917 Pte Harry Chadwick202860 Pte Harry Chadwick, 1/4th Bn. Norfolk Regiment.

A resident of Burnley, Lancashire (35, Parkinson Street), Harry was a slay-maker at Cairo Mills, Burnley before he was called up in June 1916. A married man with one child, Harry was assigned to the 4th Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment (originally numbered 8362) and was sent to Palestine to serve with the 1/4th Battalion on 14 February 1917. He was killed in action during the 2nd Battle of Gaza on 19th April 1917, and Harry is now buried in Gaza War Cemetery, Israel. He was 33 years of age.
