Pvt George Knox, 24 Co CAC, US Army.
Born 1 October 1891 at Sedan, Kansas, George was a farmer in Indiana (Corrunna, Dekalb Cty) at the time of his drafting into the US Army in March 1918. Assigned to the Coastal Artillery, he was trained at Columbus Barracks, Ohio and at Ft.Hancock, New Jersey where he was assigned to the 24th Company. George contracted pneumonia here in April 1918 and died - after just over a month's service - on 26 April. Burial location unknown.
