G/40753 Pte William Thomas Wainwright, 12th Bn Middlesex Regiment.
From South Norwood, Surrey, William enlisted in London into the 3rd County of London Yeomanry as Pte 2218. He first saw active service with the Yeomanry in Egypt. William later transferred to the 12th Middlesex. He was killed in action near Cherisy on 3 May 1917 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. William was aged 19.
