17 May 1916 Pte Albert Graham

17 May 1916 Pte Albert Graham22276 Pte Albert Graham,10th Bn, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).

A weaver at Burrows Shed, Whittlefield, Burnley, Albert lived with his parents at 29 Tunnel Street, Burnley. He enlisted into the Scottish Rifles in August 1915 and spent 10 weeks during his training period in hospital with rheumatism before being sent to his battalion in France on 17 February 1916. He was wounded in action on 14 May 1916 and died of these injuries in Bethune on 17 May. Albert was 20 years of age and is now buried in Bethune Town Cemetery.
