4 June 1915 AB Thomas Wilson

4 June 1915 AB Thomas WilsonZ/2324 AB Thomas Wilson, RNR, (Collingwood Battalion, Royal Naval Division).

Born at Rutherglen, Scotland on 4 July 1897, Thomas was a fitter in the North British Locomotive Works prior to enlistment. He was killed in action on 4 June 1915 near the Kereves Dere during the Third Battle of Krithia after his battalion went forward in support of the attack only to be "practically destroyed" in the process. Thomas has no known grave and his name is, therefore, recorded on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.
