Infanterist Georg Lehner, Kgl Bay Res-Inf-Regt Nr 2, Komp 3.
From Binabiburg, Bavaria, Georg was born in 1898 and, although he had enlisted the previous year (1916), he was new to the frontline. Part of a replacement draft, filling gaps in the regiment left by casualties during the Battle of the Somme, Georg was killed by the detonation of a small mine after only being at the front for a matter of weeks. He is now buried in the German Military Cemetery at Beaucamps-Ligny (block 1, grave 211).
