14 June 1917 Inf Andreas Götzberger

14 June 1917 Inf Andreas GötzbergerInf Andreas Götzberger, 1 Komp, Kgl Bay 2 Inf-Regt ‘Kronprinz'.

From Niederbayerbach, 30 year old Andreas was a book-binder in civilian life. A recalled reservist in August 1914, Andreas took part in the Battle of the Frontiers, Artois, Verdun and the Somme before he was killed in action near the Chemin des Dames ridge on 14 June 1917. He is now buried in the Kameradengrab of the German Military Cemetery at Cerny-en-Laonnois near to where he fell.
