1066 Sdt 2e Cl Annet Cuisson, 3e Bn Chasseurs à Pied.
Born at Roanne, Loire on 27 June 1894 (where he was still listed as residing - at Rue Moulin à Vent), Annet was a matter of months into his compulsory military service at the outbreak of war. Almost immediately seeing action at the Battle of Sarrebourg, he served in Alsace and the Champagne before moving into Belgium where he saw action during the First Battle of Ypres in the vicinity of Hollebeke and Zonnebeke. Following the Battle of Ypres, he moved to the Artois front and served in the vicinity of the Notre Dame de Lorette, Souchez and Angres prior to, during and after the Second Battle of Artois. Annet was severely wounded on the night of 30 June/1 July 1915 and he died in a French dressing station at Sains-en-Gohelle on 1 July. Annet is buried in the military section of the communal cemetery at Sains.
