Pvt Henry W Richardson, 317th Labor Bn, US Army Quartermaster Corps.
From Lexington, Kentucky, Henry was born on 25 August 1887. A labourer by trade, he was drafted into the army at New Albany, Indiana on 29 April 1918 and assigned to the Quartermaster Corps as a general labourer. He was killed by a mysterious explosion on board transport on 10 July 1918, although the official government report states ‘died of pneumonia' and his burial location is unknown.
