610 Sdt 2 Cl Claude-Marie Gontard, 223e Régiment d'Infanterie, 22 Cie.
Born at Ambierle, Loire on 6 February 1888 Claude-Marie was a recalled reservist in August 1914. Re-enlisting at Roanne, he saw service in Lorraine, on the Meuse and in the Argonne from late 1914 through 1915. Claude-Marie was killed in action near Vého (Moselle) on 16 July 1915 and he has no known grave but he is commemorated on the war memorial at Ambierle.
