Dgn Max Rebholz, Leib-Dragoner Regt ‘von Arnim' Nr 12.
Born at Gutenstein on 14 January 1893, Max was a serving soldier at the outbreak of war. He served on both the Western and Eastern Fronts at various times, his main engagements throughout being First Marne, Lemberg, Verdun, 1918 Spring Offensive and the Lys. Max died in hospital (cause unknown) at Sigmaringen, Baden on 26th August 1918 and was he buried locally.
