848 Sdt 2 Cl Pierre-Joseph Terrier, 133e RI.
From Charlieu, Loire, Pierre was born on 10 February 1885. Having completed his compulsory service in 1908, he was a recalled reservist who re-enlisted into the 133rd Infantary Regiment on 8 August 1914 at Roanne. Thrust into action in the Alsace region almost immediately, Pierre was wounded near Ste Die in the Vosges (one of over 1,200 casualties in the first week of September) and he died of his injuries in hospital at Bayon (Moselle). He is now buried in the Necropole Nationale of Bayon.
